[Fulbright do you really think he's going to be killing people in this condition?

It's bad enough that he has to deal with paramedics and hospitals now, but of course Fulbright's going to come with and ramble about rubbish like this.

He would make a comeback at that comment, but he's just too tired to care right now. So instead, he quietly stares up at the ceiling. He thinks things over as the paramedics tend to him, glaring and hissing at them when they touch a tender spot. It's a good thing they want to help and aren't that intimidated by him though. The convicted killer isn't very scary in a state like this.]

[You know what, Blackquill would love to not be in this situation at all. That would be just great. He absolutely hates being in hospitals and being cared for. He's perfectly capable of nursing his wounds on his own, thanks. But of course, it's not that easy when you're a convicted murderer who's being watched 24/7.

When Fulbright makes his departure, Blackquill has been handcuffed to a mobile hospital bed surrounded by cops. If he could look any more annoyed, believe me he would.]

Please do take your time, detective. I won't have you bumbling up your work for my sake.

[In other words, he'd actually prefer if you just left him be kthx. But we both know that won't happen.]

I expect a full report on the bombing upon your return. I do not want to see your face until you have every last scrap of information within your grasp.

[And with that, they part ways.

When Fulbright comes back, he'll be directed to Blackquill's room. Two officers stand guard outside, and when Fulbright enters, he'll see at least one more in the room, keeping an eye on the convict.

And it must be pretty boring for that officer right now because Blackquill's fast asleep. It's a miracle what heavy painkillers will do for an insomniac like him. Uncharacteristically, he actually looks somewhat peaceful in his sleep, but small flinches appear on his face every now and then as he breaths in. He must've really messed up his ribs or something.]

[As if Blackquill has Fool Bright senses, he awakens not long after Fulbright takes over. His eyes flicker open, and he takes note of the status of the room, namely one Fool Bright suddenly being present.

And while Fulbright had the decency to let him keep sleeping, he's not going to return it if Fulbright is sleeping now.]

Fool Bright. [His voice is somewhat strained, but stern, as though he won't accept Fulbright sleeping through what he's saying.] I trust you have what I asked for?

[What are greetings? Blackquill only cares about business.]

[Wow, that's surprising. Fulbright usually isn't one to jump when addressed. Blackquill makes note of his partner's condition as he flips through the report. Trial against Starbuck postponed, new trial for the bombing coming soon, state of the courthouse, etc. etc. His stern look slowly turns into a small smirk as he finishes reading it.]

Well done, Fool Bright. [He coughs briefly. Augh, his chest is still killing him and it's difficult to stay sitting up like this. He holds a hand to his chest as he takes a few shaky breaths. But he continues on as if there were no interruptions.] I am honestly impressed with the quality of your work this time around. I always knew that the "bright" in your name was not simply an unfortunate form of irony.

[Don't act like he's going to keep up the compliments for long or anything. Just laying on a little Simon Says. He's going to keep trying, okay.]
